Chapel St Gospel Choir was founded back in 1999 as Castlebar Gospel Choir, and has continued to grow and evolve over the years. Though rooted in Traditional Gospel Spiritual Music, the choir has also won acclaim for its interpretation through Gospel Music of all genres of music from Classical to Pop, and has collaborated with a number of artists both in Ireland and abroad. Since its formation, Chapel St Gospel Choir has participated in the Music Ministry at the Church of the Holy Rosary Castlebar and can be heard singing on the last Saturday of each month. The choir, under the direction of Kathy Fahey, has achieved success at both the Mayo Choral Festival and the KIltimagh Choral Festival, and performs regularly in its home town of Castlebar at the Linenhall Theatre, Christ Church, Museum of Country Life and The Royal Theatre, as well as other venues around Mayo. It has also performed at the National Concert Hall and venues in both The USA and Germany.
